JNTU Hyderabad Registrar N.V. Ramana Rao has written a letter to principals of affiliated colleges for considering different factors for re-calculation of attendance of detained students. This decision has been taken after the review committee meeting which is laid to find the cause for huge number of students detained in this semester when compared to previous semester.
Sources say that overall 10,000 students are detained in this semester with shortage of attendance of which 3000 students belong to final year. Thus, this a major issue needed to be taken care. Registrar asked affiliated college principals to re-calculate attendance of detained students by taking into consideration of following
- Technical Fests
- Annual Day Celebrations
- Supplementary Examinations
- Mid term Examinations
- Industrial Tours
- Student Seminars
- Field Works
- Sports & Activities etc.
By taking into consideration many students may get out of detained lit, so principals are requested to re-calculate the attendance as soon as possible to take necessary action regarding the examinations.

Important: Registrar also added in the interview given to news channel that they are going to implement University Attendance Portal for all the affiliated colleges from next semester to take necessary actions on attendance shortage students from the middle of semester rather than taking action at neck of exams. On recalculation of attendance i learned some collage are demanding maney to increase attendance from the detined students and some collages are refusing to recalculate the attendance like as per the instructions given by JNTU. Hence we request to consider and istruct to take 40% attandance to promote detined students which is previous year implemented, this request submitted the intrest of Engineering students and Parents
we thank full to which instruction given to recalculate the attendance of detined students, again we are requesting to you kindly cutoff 40% of attendance which is very helpfull to future of students who are detined. if you consider this request huge no. of students and their parants will getup from their depression and feel very happy.

Thanks for the reponse with the immediate action taken by the JNTU university for the issue of Detained students who are not qualifed for attendence, which lead them to lose their examinations. university had saved thousands of students life to leave their academic year which may lead to discripensies in thier life.
We request you to conduct attendance for every student with thier parent meet once in a month in the college campus, where the steam line can be brought between the parents and the students.

Im detained student from 2nd b-tech 2nd sem. sir i saw news in eenadu hyderabad paper about shortage of attendance but colleges were not taking any action on recaluclation of attendence due to sake college name so sir please leave letter to college that attendance were shortage to 50%. This is life of 10,000 students

We would like to request you to put a 40% cutoff on attendance because there were a lot of disturbances in the hyderabad city the past academic year like telangana bandhs and then the saidabad curfew.Even though jntu added few days of attendance to the students at the time of bandh, not all RTC buses were available even after the bandh due to which some of the students couldnt attend college.A 40% cut off would do good for many student’s careers which are at stake.

sir, i had been detained due to lack of attendence .. . . college authority did not took my medical cert. and they did not recalculated attend. . . . . i had many certificates also . . . . . i had 39 percent . . . . .please excuse me . . . . . . . my life will be saved
my atendence is 58% sir, due to some telangana strike and unavoidalble my sister marriage, and my father was srious so i coulnot meet 65%, so pl give me chance and also college are not taking into mid term exam period for recalculation attendence .hence once again i am requsting to consider my case symphatically . i am the student of first year B.Tech.
